WeRadiate Presents Soil Amendment Solution at the Halcyon Showcase 2023

On December 14, 2023, Halcyon held its last showcase of the year for the Fall Opportunity Intensive Program. WeRadiate's Sashti Balasundaram, the Founder & CEO, and Jui Khopkar, the Head of Brand, presented their solution to revive the world’s degraded soil through a systematic, data-driven approach to organic recycling and composting after six months of intense work. Their solution involved creating an impact in Washington D.C. and other markets across the United States.

The Opportunity Intensive began in 2020 with a commitment to accelerating the impact-driven future of business in our own backyard. While Opportunity Zones have been a polarizing topic, they provide a valuable jumping-off point for identifying communities in our region that have been historically under-resourced to ensure innovation and investment remain in the hands of those who know and love these communities best.

The program’s unique structure was designed for fellows to meet one day per month, with two week-long residencies and a culminating showcase event in January 2024. Sashti and Jui completed the program successfully at the end of December 2023.

The program was supported by the US Economic Development Administration, Amazon Web Services, Capital One, S&R Evermay, HR Sage, and Goodwin, and includes a microloan program in partnership with the Kimsey Foundation.
